Useless for scanning up to 6 devices. Too expensive for a simple tool in Pro version.

Very good app especially if you want to block your kids computers or tablets from using internet thru mac address
worked fine before Elcapitain version, now simply crashes
Says it’s scanning, returns no results.
This application does exactly what it says it will do quickly and efficiently. It is very intuitive to use. It is much easier to use this app than to plow thorugh the modem’s status pages to view what devices are on the network. You can even ‘open’ a discovered device on your computer. The app quickly puts you back in control of your network. The application found a ‘squatter’ on my network. This made is really easy to find out why my conenction was suddenly very slow. A quick trip to the modem’s configuration pages solved the problem. IP Scanner then was able to confirm that only proper devices were on the network. I accidentally found a very helpful bonus of using this app: I can instantly get to & adjust my network connected scan-FAX-printers status, settings, fax numbers and more by using IP Scanner to open the device. From the manufacturer’s (Brother) applicaitons, the printer settings, FAX and speed dial & status monitors are very, very difficult to access, requiring opening of various programs & sub-programs. Some settings, like network settings, FAX & speed dial, can only be manipulated on the machine’s control panel via many, many sub-menus. Changing something is quite tedious using Brother’s apps & settings. With ths IP Scanner app, I can open the “Discovered Device” (printer) and instantly am connected to every single setting and status screen for my printer. This very nice & consolodated page is not normally accessible from OS X. I have only seen it once when Brother tech support remotely logged into my printer to fix something. Using IP Scanner to get to this page means no more opening dozens of apps & sub-apps or paging through many, many sub-menus on the device control panel just to change a setting. This is spiffy! Also note that if your Discovered Device will not open in the browser window, this is most likely because the device’s firewall(s) is doing its job. I like this app very much.
Don’t waste your time downloading this garbage. It’s so limited that it only displays the first six devices it finds, and it incorrectly identifies half of them. What a waste of two minutes.
Developers that offer a “Free” App for the sole reason to waste your time should have their App pulled from the AppStore. IP Scanner will only provide 6 address’, with every couple having a 2 iPhones, an iPad, a minimum of one computer, your Router & a VoIP phone your out of IP Address’ this App will scan. If youre looking for an IP Scanner App youre probably an advanced user with many (more than 6) IP Address’. I can understand you want to see if the App is worth buying, but even with that in mind the Pro Version is $29.99 dont waste your time, Im sure there are other apps, free or reasonably priced, with a little work you can find directions to do this with Apple Software already installed, I was going to go that route just thought an App would be easier, but it has just wasted my time, dont let this one waste yours...
Simply doesn’t work on 10.11.6.
the app is fine for small networks. It´s useful for me
The six device limit renders this useless for even a moderate home network. Dont waste your time.
Works fast and allows you to configure each device. The limit on how many devices could be better. The point is to see all devices on your network mainly the ones you are not allowing!!!! With 6 you have ipad, apple tv, mac, laptop, main pc, and tv. After that you are done. What about BD player, other pcs or macs?????? For the free one 10 would be great. If all you need is to see whats there and no need to do all the other stuff like pinging and so on just stop there. Have the paid one with all the bells just give me the basic.
I wondered why there were so many bad reviews but no comments. I believe the simple reason is that this version only allows you to view 6 targets. If you want more, youll need to purchase an upgraded version. Otherwise, this app seems nice.
If your free app is feature limited, like this is (max. 6 devices shown) PLEASE SAY SO RIGHT UP FRONT SO PEOPLE DONT WASTE THEIR TIME! Ive got nothing against demos, but I hate misleading descriptions (AKA lies).
If youre going to put a demo product on the App Store, please SAY its a DEMO! I was very disappointed to see it would only show 6 of my devices after wasting the time downloading/configuring it. Im all for trying software, but if youre going to put out teasers, at least say so.
get angry ip scanner instead. dont waste time on this.
Does a great job, but $30 is way to much, especially when I can get most of the same information for FREE using LanScan. This program does give you identification info which LanScan lacks, but I mainly needed a list of all ip devices.
This stinks! They want your money to see all the devices on the network. This could be a good app if they were not charging so much for a simple IP address list of things on your network. Hey yes you deserve to make a little money for your app, but $5 for a list of IP addresses in this software era is GREED!!! PR
I have this app on my Macbook Pro and my iPhone, and it seems like the iPhone app does such a better job than the one on my laptop. Ill have my girlfriend bring up her Macbook, the iPhone app will show it on the list, but the Mac app wont show it at all (or a bunch of other connected devices). It would get 5 stars if they fixed this and made it more reliable
Nice app, but only supports 6 hosts then it wants your money. If you just need a quick ip scan, get LanScan for free. Just say no to crippleWare ...
Product is actually a very light, very impractical version. Cost for paid version is too much in my opinion.
